Bristol and Hannover Dental Schools celebrate the twinning of our two towns with a fantastic annual exchange visit. The Exchange has been running for over 40 years and has resulted in long-lasting friendships and collaborative projects. This year students from Bristol are due to visit Hannover, Germany, from Saturday 17th to Saturday 24th June 2017. We are looking for keen students in Years 2 and 3 to form the visiting party. Students will stay with a fellow Hannover student, attend classes at Hannover Dental School and be shown around the town and surrounding area. Students will also have an opportunity to meet up during their free time in the evenings and enjoy the company of their German counterparts. The Hannover staff and students are superb hosts and students who went in 2015 had a brilliant week.
The Deal
Students will pay for their flight, transport to and from the airport (usually Birmingham), and some lunches throughout their stay.
The subsequent year in 2018, the Hannover students would visit Bristol. It is expected that those students who go on the exchange this year would commit to hosting a student the following year (third week in June 2018) and providing a bed for them.
Students who are selected to take part will form a committee and will help to raise funds for continuation of the Hannover Exchange, providing funds for meals and entertainment for the group when Bristol is hosting.
Students will be given leave of absence for the week to visit Hannover, but must be confident that they are able to catch up with the work on return.
