National winner – Undergraduate ABAOMS essay prize

Taha Alibhai has been announced this week as the national winner of the ABAOMS (Association of British Academic Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons) undergraduate essay prize. This year’s title was “Prevention is better than cure – should all partially erupted impacted lower third molars be removed?” It is a brilliant achievement as his entry was up against the winning essays from 13 UK dental schools.

As the winner of the national competition, he receives £100 in prize money, free registration to the annual ABAOMS conference to present his essay as a poster and the opportunity to publish his essay in Dental Update.

The Oral Surgery teaching team and dental school are really proud of this achievement and we can’t wait to read Taha’s essay in print. Well done Taha!
