On Friday 15th June, Bristol Dental School held an Eid al Fitr celebration in the courtyard of Chapter House.
Eid al-Fitr is a festival celebrated worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
Staff and students shared baklava, stuffed dates, chocolate cake, tea, coffee and doughnuts in the warm sunshine.
This year Eid coincided with the year 5 dental undergraduates receiving their final exam results, so the courtyard was full of much additional celebration, with students sharing their news and talking with representatives from different dental societies including the dental unions and the Bristol Dental School Alumni.
Nigel Robb, Reader in Restorative Dentistry also received a presentation of Bristol Blue Glass as a thank you for his seven years at Bristol Dental School, ahead of leaving for his new role at Griffith University on the Gold Coast of Australia.
Michelle Alexis was also thanked later that afternoon by her team for all her hard work as Student Administration Manager, before taking up her new role at Cardiff University.
It was a lovely day at Bristol Dental School, with much to celebrate.
